As I seem to get older with every passing day, I look for ever more convenient ways to explore Colorado's arctic tundra above treeline. Hiking south along the Continental Divide from Independence Pass, we had a lovely lunch overlooking this view. We also turned around when we'd had enough. The trail accesses a knife-edge ridge and we were uncomfortable with it (yes, I know, I've grown wimpy in my dotage). / 16 x 20" / Oil
