Michigan: Isle Royale National Park

Isle Royale National Park is a remote island cluster of car-free wilderness that includes forests, lakes, and waterways. It is near Michigan’s border with Canada and is only accessible by boat. This rugged area hosts only 19 mammal species and is home to a world famous long-running ecological study of wolves. Dive sites include several shipwrecks and backpackers may encounter moose and wolves.
