One of my favorite lines ever written is Leonard Cohen’s, "There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in. I immediately thought of it on this perfectly tranquil fall morning, as the first rays of sun after a passing storm danced on the waters edge, their elation given away only by the lingering fog. It was a rare moment of magic, and it passed, soon after. And yet, it stayed with me, for so much longer than those few, fleeting seconds.
It took Cohen a decade to write his song, “Anthem. But when he put that final line on the paper, he had created something lasting, something real, something true — something that made all the struggles, the doubts and anxieties worth it. More than that, he had created something to inspire others, including me, to search for the deeper meaning in his words and to express that inspiration in our own ways.
And so, “ANTHEM, the image, and the song, has become a lesson in the power of persistence as the driving force to create something meaningful, something that can change lives — no matter if it's one or a million.
