Indigenous Trees, Logging Road, Mt. Haleakala

Indigenous Trees, Logging Road, Mt. Haleakala

Artist: Mark Alberhasky

$180.00

A old logging trail weaves like a scar across the landscape of Mount Haleakala, on the island of Maui. It's slopes were once covered by Acacia Koa forests. This stand of the indigenous trees are a reminder of past human environmental indiscretion. Fortunately today, through preservation efforts, Koa trees thrive in other areas on the Hawaiian islands and are considered one of the most valuable woods in the world.
