Colorado: Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

This western Colorado park is known for its narrow canyons, carved over millions of years by the Gunnison River through 1.7-billion year old Precambrian metamorphic rock, including the Painted Wall cliff and other photogenic exposed rock.

Black Canyon’s artwork highlights the steep canyon walls and painted rocks, along with the stunning and sparsely foliaged landscapes.
