40 x 30" / oil and cold waxGold Lake is sacred land near Boulder where Chief Niwot of the southern Arapahoe tribe, along with people form other tribes met every summer for their sun dance. After Chief Niwot was slaughtered by US government officials, miners went to this pristine mountain lake looking for gold. They never found gold, but Gold Lake remains a powerful sacred place beloved by Coloradans.
